Hannah Shaw’s Profile

Hannah Shaw graduated from the University of Brighton in 2004 with a degree in illustration.

Inspired by her love of furry animals, Hannah wrote and illustrated her first picture book- Evil Weasel, published by Jonathan Cape in 2008. Evil Weasel won the Cambridgeshire Children’s Picture Book Award 2009. Erroll, her second written and illustrated picture book was published by Cape in 2009.

She has also illustrated the following picture books:

Crocodiles are the Best Animals of All! by Sean Taylor (Frances Lincoln 2009) -Shortlisted for the Roald Dahl funny Prize.

The Sleep Sheep by Anna McQuinn.(To be published by Chicken House 2010)

Her black and white illustrations have also appeared in a number of children’s fiction books including The Great Hamster Massacre by Katie Davies. (To be published 2010)

Hannah currently lives in the Cotswolds with her husband Ben the blacksmith and her very silly rescue dog named Ren. Her hobbies include dog agility, D.I.Y, gossip and shopping.
