Sheena has been many things in her life so far, ice-cream seller on a beach in France, doggy daycare worker in beautiful Canada and Plate-Spinner Extraordinare all over the place (or "waitress" to be more exact).
Drawing has always had a special place in her heart though, and a couple of years ago she decided to give illustration a try and came from Ireland to Foggy Old London to study for an MA. She was very lucky to begin working with Walker Books straight after her MA and her first picture book "Bye Bye Baby Brother" will be published in February 2013.
Sheena uses traditional materials to make her pictures, and especially enjoys the soft transparency of watercolour on paper. She loves to inject humour and liveliness into her characters and stories, as well as tapping into the emotions of very young children.
