Simon Wild completed his MA in illustration at the prestigious Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge. He is interested in capturing the fantastical through a combination of observation and imagination.

His ideas first take shape as written notes and doodles in sketchbooks, before they merge to form a concept for an image or an illustration. He works with pen and ink, collage, screen print, and the computer. His work has often been described as ‘psychedelic scribbles’, ‘elaborate telephone doodles’ and ‘childlike expressions’.

Simon was awarded the Egmont Children’s Book award for the student with most promise in the children’s book industry
His debut illustrated book for children is Fantastical Flying Machines (Macmillan 2010)
